“Legislative Breakfast”
Fiesta Educativa and CPAD have been collaborative partners as CPRCs (Community Parent Resource Centers) serving the Hispanic and Chinese communities respectively with funding from OSEP (Office of Special Education Programs) since 2005. In 2013, our collaborative has providing a series of parent leadership trainings to support and empower parents in the understanding and participation in the legislative process.
We are now in the process of organizing a legislative breakfast on 9/24/2014, as an opportunity for a selected group of parents to meet with community leaders in the position of developing, implementing and enforcing special education policy. In preparation for the Legislative Breakfast, we will be providing 2 Preparation Trainings on 4/14 and 9/11/2014, from 9 am to noon. We would like to invite you to participate in this valuable Parent Leadership Training-Legislative Breakfast. Please note that all participating parents must attend both Preparation Training sessions as well as the Legislative Breakfast session. The training schedules are as follows:
1st Prep Training : 4/14/2014, 9 am – noon First Christian Church 220 S. 5th Street, Alhambra
