CPAD Supports China Earthquake Disaster Relief

May 20, 2008

Dear Parents and Friends,

The 5/12/2008 7.8 magnitude China Earthquake destroyed countless properties in central and northern Sichuan, and many nearby provinces. Killed over 40,000 people; injured 247,000 people and 32,000 people missing, yet the numbers are still rising.

Although many of us feel powerless when confronted with such natural disasters, yet we do know that we can help out by contributing money through organized charitable organizations to help the victims. It has been widely reported that the earthquake victims need clean water, food, tents and medical materials to prevent the worse to happen, as well as resources to rebuild their homes. Assistance from outside the area is very important as the local infrastructure has been destroyed. Our assistance should alleviate the suffering and provide some hope to the victims and show them people from other parts of the world do care for them.

CPAD is supporting the fundraising the China Earthquake Disaster Relief; funds raised will be donated to Chinese Consulate General in L.A. and Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu-Chi Foundation, USA.

Parents who would like to contribute please send your donation addressed to CPAD. If you have a preference, please specify your choice of “Chinese Consulate” or “Tzu-Chi” for your contribution, and mail to P.O. Box 2884, San Gabriel, CA 91776. CPAD will group the donation together and send out a master check to the two designated charitable organizations accordingly.

Your donation is fully tax deductible.

Best regards,
CPAD
