IRS NOTICE ON EXEMPTION OF GROSS INCOME FOR SOME IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES (IHSS) WORKERS
As previously reported, the California Department of Social Services – the state agency that oversees the In-Home Supportive Services program statewide – released a press release March 16th regarding a notice from the federal Internal Revenue Services (IRS) that IHSS worker wages received by IHSS workers who live with the person receiving those IHSS services are not considered part of “gross income” for purposes of reporting federal income taxes.
