Congresswoman Judy Chu Annual Turkey Gobble Program

11/7/2017 Congresswoman Judy Chu's Annual Operation Gobble Turkey Donation Program - CPAD board member Jenny Chiu represented CPAD in participating at this meaningful Thanks to event hosted by Congresswoman Judy Chu. On November 5th and 6th, 2018, Tak Lau Charity Foundation and Alpha Design & Event have joined hands in sponsoring a spectacular Cantonese opera show "Love Charity Nite V". Tak Lau Charity Foundation have donated $20,888.88 from proceeds of these events to CPAD for the building of CPAD’s Activity Center so that member families can have a special event venue to grow and be supported. (More..)

Feng gave us a talk on “Emergency Preparedness”.  Dr. Feng showed us the crucial items for survival, such as ax, fire starter, water storage, food storage, compass, tent, and first aid bag.                            IEP Workshop

                  Time: October 28, 2017
              Saturday, 1:30 pm -3:30 pm

This workshop aims to help parents navigate the IEP process.  It will provide some basic facts about the special education system in California, including eligibility, evaluations/assessments, free and appropriate public education (FAPE), placement, services and tips for IEP meetings.  Parents who attend this workshop will have an opportunity to ask some general questions about IEP, while the lecturer won’t give detailed legal advice with respect to individual cases.  Subsequent workshops will be held to discuss about particular issues identified by parents...(More..)

2017-2018, Kiwanis Club of Monterey Park Installation Dinner at Monterey Park Hill, Monterey Park was held on 9/22/2017.  CPAD Rainbow Dancers were invited to perform on this special event and received their donation check of $3,000. We thank all the members from Kiwanis Clubs of Monterey Park, especially our long-term friend Marie Peng for their kind support toward CPAD all these years... On 9/16/2017, CPAD Orange County Chapter, Parents Lynn Moore gave a talk in “Promoting Independence through Supportive Living”.  Lynn is a parent of three children with Autism.  She shared her experience of helping her children grow independence by living outside the family home.  She explained what independence living services and supportive living services are and how Regional Center can provide them. She emphasized that behaviour manaement is crucial.  With manageable level of behavior, a child would have many more choices in living options and day program... (More..)
