CPAD LA Headquarter:
Golfing on a Saturday Afternoon
On Saturday, October 1, 2016, many CPAD friends joined together to enjoy a free golfing lesson. The teacher of this lesson was Amy Huang, a Taiwanese professional golfer. She taught the students that the word “professional” means to play for a living, which meant that golfing is actually her real job. She is indeed a highly skilled professional golfer!
The CPAD friends went on to golf for an entire hour. The best part about this event was that everyone received a prize after they finished golfing. Each person won a special gift for a very special accomplishment (More...)

8/20/16 CPAD Orange County Chapter meeting – Advocates Raymond Kwong and Yi-Jen Lee of Disability Rights California gave us a talk in “What Can Disability Right California Do for Us?” They gave us brochures in Chinese that states the mission: advocate, educate, investigate and litigate to advance and protect the rights of Californians with disabilities (More ...)

CPAD Alhambra Headquarter:
We are saddened for the passing of our dear Uncle Ka. Mr. Ka Chung Fogg, Gary’s father, CPAD’s board member, passed away peacefully with family members at his side on August 2, 2016. Mr. Fogg was 77 years old.
He had wholeheartedly volunteered his time to support, encourage, and help our children to build their confidence and self-esteem. His understanding and presence in most CPAD activities have earned him the familiar recognition as “Uncle Ka” among our children (More)
CPAD Orange County Chapter:
On 6/18/2016, Attorney Melinda Hunsaker of McGonigle & Hunsaker, LLP, gave us a talk on “Living Trust and Special Need Trust”. She discussed living trust and special needs trust in detail. Ms. Hunsaker reviewed the four documents in basic estate planning: Durable Power of Attorney for Finances、Advance Health Care Directive、Living Trust and Pour Over Will.
She also talked about probate, the costs and time involved and how to avoid it. (More)

OCAAC Tour - On April 16, 2016, Saturday, the Director of Orange County Adult Achievement Center (OCAAC), Mr. Mike Galliano, introduced to CPAD parents, the adult programs offered by OCAAC, including - My Job Counts (work activity program), My Cup Counts (packaging K-Cups), Consumer Choice Day Activity Program (on-site and community-based day activities), Family Connections (adult family home agency), Independent Living Service (conduct classes to each and coach independent living skills, including housekeeping, making phone calls, grooming, etc.) ....
It is an innovative program designed to provide minimum wage jobs to adults with disabilities. (More)
