CPAD - LA Headquarter
September 26, 2019, CPAD’s 30th Anniversary Fundraising GALA -- “Wonderful event”, “Enjoyable”, “Festive”, “Amazing & Fun” are some of the comments from the guests. Board members, board advisors, parent volunteers and their families worked tirelessly planning, organizing, publicizing and working throughout the event. The Gala was a success, helping CPAD to raise net $75,000—one big step not only in funding toward our Activity Center goal, but also a great encouragement to CPAD’s board and parent volunteer members. CPAD OC Chapter
10/19/2019 CPAD Orange County Charter held its first ever group birthday party. Families and friends gathered to celebrate the birthdays of those amazing children whose birthdays are in the last quarter. We had a great party, everyone loved the music, the dance, the balloons, the cake, and the special guest -- Elmo. (More...)

CPAD Happy Summer Fun -- The time flies in the midst of the hustling summer chedule. I wish we all had a happy summer holiday. Even though we did not have the regular Saturday program, we had a lot more varieties of activities: water skiing in Big Bear Lake, the annual outing trip, karaoke singing to honor parents, not to mention the dragon boat practice and race in Long Beach during the months of June and July, where hysterical excitement was always visible at the finish line! CPAD Orange County Chapter - Parent Meeting
On 7/20/2019, Attorney Laura Meier of The Meier Law Firm gave us a talk on “Living Trust and Special Needs Trust”. Ms. Meier discussed in detail: how to name a guardian for a child with disabilities; how to avoid a long and expensive court process known as probate; how to pass money to a child with a disability in a way that would not disqualify him from receiving government benefits; what a special needs trust is and whether it’s necessary; what a conservatorship is and what are the alternatives; how to ensure your vision for your child’s future is honored; and how to leave behind far more than just money. CPAD Orange County Chapter
The Orange County Chapter of CPAD held its annual picnic on May 18, 2019, at Irvine Regional Park. About 30 families participated, the youngest child is 3 and ½, the oldest 56. It’s not easy to organize an activity for participants with such age disparity. We were blessed with wonderful weather, warm but not hot. The children enjoyed riding surreys around the park; had great fun riding ponies, and having train rides... (More...)
